Revitalises traditional copper craftsmanship through the production of new artistic objects
AbrakaBakra Copper Art is a project by artist Denis Drljević from Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), whose goal is the revitalization of traditional crafts, primarily those that deal with copper as a material, namely the crafts of coppersmiths. His place of business is in the Old Town in Mostar.
Copper reliefs and their reproductions, jewellery, bookmarks, magnets, orgonites, lamps, and furniture are only part of this artistic vision. The products are mainly created by recycling copper found in waste, combined with hand-struck old coins, interesting pieces of wood, stone, and crystals, in collaboration with other local craftsmen and artists.
The principles on which the work of AbrakaBakra Copper Art is based are aesthetics, tradition, innovation, glorification of One God, and gratitude for the Gift of Life. Their goal is to spread the message of universal love, wisdom, brotherhood/sisterhood, compassion, positive energy, and transcendence, integrated in art.
