Painting and restoration of traditional Alentejo furniture and manufacture of wooden toys with typical Alentejo painting
José Manuel Chinarro is a craftsman from Évora who learned the Alentejo technique of painting furniture at the age of 17 from the famous local artist Mestre Paulino. Starting in 1975, he has since dedicated himself to the manufacture of traditional wooden toys with Alentejo painting and the painting and restoration of typical furniture from the Alentejo region.
The artisan has participated in several local exhibitions and national fairs promoting local handicrafts.
