A modern lighting design that combines traditional craftsmanship tecniques with contemporary design
LUUMi.handmade is a new local project, the result of two designers from Évora, Helena Imaginário and Hélder Cavaca, both with a common heritage: wood.
Associating design with craftsmanship, in a fusion of traditional and contemporary techniques, this new interpretation, inspired by “mid century modern lighting” design, is valued by the emotions implicit in the intangible and cultural heritage of the Alentejo region.
The design seduces us by its lines, inspired by the landscape, delicate and quiet.
Nature-inspired shapes and natural organic materials, from wood to cork, yarn and dyeing, reconnect them to the earth in a subtle and sophisticated way.
Wool snuggles us, linen refreshes us and the combination of colors completes the concept of the beautiful that each piece presents to us.
