My traveling workshop has a handcrafted lathe of reduced dimensions, to make it easier for the public to closely observe the sample of my work, and even to be able to interact with it.
Live workshop of glass engraving with stone wheel.
I make a continuous demonstration of the process of cold decoration with a stone wheel, in glass pieces with floral motifs, personalization with various calligraphies and low-relief engravings of animals, monuments, landscapes, etc.
People can contemplate the different tools necessary for decoration in each piece, such as cups, vases or plates, and the process of marking and rectifying the wheels with which the glass is engraved.
At all times the demonstration attendees can ask questions about any questions that will be resolved at the same time, since while I work I can communicate with them without the need for breaks during the development of the work, this helps all people to see and to hear at all times the precious art of engraving with the almost obsolete techniques that were used in Europe in the 17th century.
With this live exhibition of my craft, I try to show a crafts in extinction period and that I hope to be able to teach and explain to people that it is an art worth appreciating for its complicity, its history and the minute fragility of its essence.
