Thematic workshop on “Crafts that conserve and restore heritage”

On 3 and 4 July, a new Project Meeting of the OWHC’s Southern Europe and Mediterranean Regional Secretariat was held in Mostar (Bosnia-Herzegovina), which included an interesting Thematic Workshop on “Crafts that conserve and restore heritage”, in which good practices in this field from the cities of Angra do Heroísmo, Évora and Porto were presented.

The role of the trades in the so-called Emergency Plans was also discussed, a programme promoted by the OWHC General Secretariat, and a first meeting was held to set up the Collaborative Network “Traditional trades and techniques for heritage conservation”, presented by this Regional Secretariat as part of the Quebec Roadmap.

The meeting was attended by 17 representatives from 10 cities: Angra do Heroísmo, Évora and Porto from Portugal; Aranjuez and Córdoba from Spain; Dubrovnik and Split from Croatia; Vienna from Austria, Kotor from the Republic of Montenegro and Mostar.

The 23rd Regional Conference will be held in Elvas (Portugal) on 12 and 13 December 2023, continuing the work begun at the previous meeting.
